We purchased these for our geriatric dog for her to have better traction as she went up AND down our 250 year old house's hardwood stairs-- and they have been awesome. They work VERY well (really do stay where you place them) and they look fabulous--understated, simplistic elegance, unlikely to go out of fashion (island sand sisal with black border). The landing mat is critical- love that it is included.

We decided to try these carpets for our steep stairs in our small cottage in the Bahamas when our 10-year old bearded collie started to slip down the wooden steps. What a relief when our dog Maggie now goes up and down without any trouble, and she is safe from falls. These are beautiful, the nonslip is truly nonslip and easy to pick up and clean. We just ordered another pair for our house in Maine.

These stair treads look as good in person as in the site images. From a functionality standpoint they are perfect and are well worth the listed price. We have had a set in place for the past five months and have experienced no slipping on a high traffic staircase used by kids and dogs. They are easy to remove for cleaning, and have not caused any discoloration of the underlying wood.
